Social Distancing: Thoughts, Playlist & Cozy Needs

It feels weird to post anything without acknowledging that our world feels like it is sinking deeper and deeper into unknown chaos. While I appreciate and love seeing a feed filled with positivity, I think it’s important to also acknowledge how seriously our world has been impacted by this virus. My emotions have been all over thinking about this situation; I can range from calm to anxious to sad. My mind is spinning with all the hardship that so many face because of this virus. For now, if you are in the space of comfort, let’s be thankful that we may have the privilege of staying warm at home, reading, working, learning, creating, being surrounded by family, having a roof over our head and food in our fridge.

I am especially thinking about the brave healthcare professionals who are at the front lines of this trying to fight this war. While we think about how to keep ourselves entertained or how to set up a new home office space, these people are suiting up to fight what has engrossed our nation with fear. If you know someone in the medical field, reach out to call, text, FaceTime, or even send a letter thanking them.

I think that what I have learned most from this so far is that there is great power in community and connection. While social media is a way for us to connect, nothing beats the simple connections like a conversation with your grandma. It has been amazing to see how people have come together to fight this, donate, and connect.

While we have been faced with anxiety and stress – we have also been given the gift of time. I hope that this post can just give you a moment to pause, reflect, read, be still, and connect more with me and your inner thoughts. I hope you can take the time to make that call you’ve been putting off, start that business idea you’ve been sitting on for years, or just read that book that’s been collecting dust on your shelf.

Here is a playlist that I have been loving to keep me feeling grounded, calm and happy. It’s a playlist Joe made called “Old Style” 🙂
