Hi there!! I am Madison! Welcome to my blog. I decided to create this blog to have a creative outlet and build a community to share. I wanted this outlet to share my passions, beauty tips, fashion finds, life, fitness & health journey, style, teaching, city spots, etc. Moves With Madison is moving with me through the motions…through the ups, downs, the good, the bad, annnd sometimes the ugly. So here we go! Thank you for stopping by and thank you for following along. I hope this can be a place you come to for some inspiration, tips, and even a bit of advice when you need it. xx
Always, Madison
How old are you? 26 – my birthday is July 12, 1996, cancer baby!
What do you do for work? I am a first grade teacher. Best job EVER!
Is your hair color natural? Yes! I got it from my momma.
How do you style your hair? I use an inch and a half or 1/4 curler! The thicker the barrel makes a huge difference! I also just started using curlers for extra bounce.
Where are you from? I am originally from Massachusetts! I absolutely loved growing up on the East Coast. My entire family is over here! Plus the beaches, the mountains, the seasons, sports, and amazing schools. It doesn’t get better – minus the whole winter thing.
How do you edit your photos? I love the Tezza app! Sometimes I dabble in Lightroom and make my own presets too. My favorite Tezza filters are Lush, Vintage, & Creamy.
Why did you start your blog? I absolutely love writing and the thought of having my own little internet corner with my writing, favorite things and more was just so fun to me!
What did you study in school? I studied Elementary Education and Global Studies for my bachelor’s degree and then got my masters in Education for Curriculum and Instruction! I may be going back again because I am literally crazy and think if you can go to school you should never ever stop learning. Grad school + working full time was absolutely exhausting and 0/10 would recommend it but I truly love being a student and learning. #teacherlife
I want to start a blog but I’m scared of what people will think? So was I for a really long time and then I realized people are going to talk about you no matter what. What people say about me has nothing to do with me and doesn’t concern me. I love when people try something new, get creative, and branch out. How boooooring would life be if we all did the same thing and lived a cookie cutter life. Life is too short to care about what others think. Also I am a firm believer that if anyone is saying anything negative and giving you a hard time that says more about them than you. DO it!! You get one life! Why not live it how YOU want to?
What is a quote you live by? I think that a quote I live by is: “Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.”
Shockingly this was my senior quote from high school and it still sticks with me. I think the little moments in life are the most precious. A walk with your dog, seeing fireflies, a drive in date, cooking with your grandma. All of those small moments are the big things. I also love this Rupi Kaur quote, “Most importantly love, like it’s the only thing you know how at the end of the day all this means nothing. This page, where you’re sitting, your degree, your job, the money. Nothing even matters, except love and human connection. Who you loved and how deeply you loved them. How you touched the people around you and how much you gave them.” I like to think I am a very simple and old soul kinda human. All of that little stuff and connection makes the difference to me.
How would you describe your style? I think my style totally ranges. I love a casual, cozy and athletic look. I love the preppy/classy New England looks and I love the chic NYC kinda out there fashion. I really go with what I’m feeling. But I love basics and simple looks!
How tall are you and what sizes are you? I’m about 5′ 5″! Sizing rages a bit for me depending on the brand. I am typically a xs/s. Usually a 0/2! In jeans I wear a 23W. If I share fashion or outfit stuff I try to list the size for reference to help you shop!
