While we are all home, we can feel run down and the days can quickly feel dragged on. I have made a list of things to keep you busy, happy and productive at home.
Play a game
I love love fun games! I have linked some favorites below! One game that you can make on your own is called “Fishbowl.” There are many different ways to play this game. Directions can be found here! (We loved playing this at Christmas time)
Read
I am currently reading Little Fires Everywhere and I love it! I’m so excited to watch the show after I’m done!
You can support your local independent bookstore here -> indiebound.org 🙂
Current Reading List
Reading Recommendations:
Reflect and Journal
We really never get a moment to pause with our thoughts. Set a timer for 20 minutes and just write! What’s on your mind? What do you love? How are you feeling? Some journal prompts:
- 5 things you want to do after quarantine
- What’s on your mind?
- What are you grateful for?
- List everything that makes you feel happy – I love this one 🙂
- Click here for prompts specific to what we’re going through
Organize
This is the perfect time to really purge your space! I wish that I was at our apartment in NYC so I could really organize and purge our space!
Click here for some organization inspiration!
Tip: If you are getting rid of clothing and want to make a little extra cash you can send clothes in to Buffalo Exchange by getting a bag sent to you to pack. They can be kind of picky but the bonus is if they don’t take anything they donate it to charity! You can also use Poshmark to sell your clothing. You can find my Poshmark here! 🙂
At Home Workout
So many companies are offering free at home workouts as they adjust to their client base being at home. I have linked all of these here in a blog post! Also p.s. it’s so nice to see everyone cranking out workouts but don’t feel pressured to run 7 miles and get ripped abs – self care is relaxing with a book or Netflix show too 🙂
Call Friends and Family
So many of us have been more intentional about calling family and friends. I hope we keep this when everything is over. Some day’s I can get really down and nothing feels better than talking to a friend, my mom, or grandma. It will bring your mood right up!
Get Creative!
This is a great time to take up a new creative outlet! Some ideas could be:
- Try out a new art class online
- Paint, sketch, color
- Start a blog/website
- Try calligraphy, sewing, photography
- Tie Dye!!
- Try looking on Brit & Co for some inspiration
- Start that passion project you’ve been putting off!
Self-care
Self-care includes taking care of your mind and body! I am going to make a blog post just about self care during this crazy time with more fun tips 🙂 Some fun ideas include:
- Taking a bubble bath
- Painting your nails – Essie Gel linked here
- Do a face mask
- Meditate
- Take a nap zZzZzzz
Watch a Show or Movie
For me I love to unwind with a show or movie! Just like reading it takes you to another place where you can temporarily forget about all the worries of the world. Click here for suggested movies, books, and shows!! Currently watching Lord of the Rings and finishing my book at a snails pace so I can watch Little Fire’s Everywhere.
Pro-tip: Just watch all of the Harry Potter movies in order. Make it a fun date night or family movie night with popcorn and sweets!
Cook/Bake
What I would do to be quarantined with my Italian grandmother learning how to cook! At least she can be proud I know how to make tiramisu and chicken parm? After Easter I can officially add some cookies to the list. For me, doing takeout feels just too risky so we are sticking to eating everything at home! It’s so easy to get lazy and wrapped up in the take out trap! I would order grub hub sometimes two times a week when I didn’t want to cook. EEEEK. But there are some amazing and simple Pinterest recipes!! Click here to explore!
I hope these are helpful! Stay safe and healthy!!
My friend told me to picture each day as one more day towards normalcy. 🙂
Always,
